Abstract

Character education is an integral part of the national education system aimed at developing students with noble character, discipline, and responsibility. However, in practice, moral values among students are often not fully internalized. This Community Service Program (PKM) was conducted at SMAN 7 Tanjung Jabung Timur to enhance the effectiveness of Islamic value-based character education through religious habituation, moral mentoring, and teacher modeling. The program employed a descriptive qualitative approach, consisting of three stages: needs assessment, implementation, and evaluation, using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ discipline, responsibility, and courtesy. The school environment became more religious and communicative, while teachers demonstrated greater motivation to model Islamic values in their teaching practices. The program proved effective in establishing a school culture grounded in Islamic values and can serve as a model for strengthening character education in public schools.
