Abstract
Pondok pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) are the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia and play a vital role in shaping generations with noble character and broad knowledge. However, amid globalization and rapid technological advancement, pondok pesantren face significant challenges in maintaining their existence and improving the quality of their education. This study aims to analyze the educational management strategies implemented at Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum Jambi to enhance the overall institutional quality. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum Jambi applies a quality-improvement-based educational management strategy through clear vision and mission planning, enhancement of teacher competence, curriculum innovation integrating religious (diniyah) and general education, and strengthening of institutional governance systems. Supporting factors include visionary leadership and active community participation, while the main challenges lie in limited human resources and infrastructure. This study recommends optimizing quality-based management and strengthening collaboration with external partners to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of education in Islamic boarding schools.
