Pembuatan Instrumen Asesmen Berbasis HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) dalam Pembelajaran IPA di SD/MI
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to develop an assessment instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for the Natural Science (IPA) subject in Elementary Schools/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (SD/MI). The development of this instrument is expected to enhance students’ critical, analytical, and creative thinking abilities in understanding scientific concepts. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using a modified Borg & Gall model, consisting of five stages: (1) needs analysis, (2) planning, (3) initial product development, (4) expert validation, and (5) limited field testing. The instrument consists of 20 HOTS-based items developed according to the revised Bloom’s taxonomy. The validation results from subject matter and evaluation experts indicated a feasibility level of 92% (categorized as very valid). The reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha obtained a coefficient of 0.87 (categorized as highly reliable). The trial conducted with 60 students showed that 85% of them were able to answer questions in the analysis, evaluation, and creation categories satisfactorily. Therefore, this HOTS-based assessment instrument is considered suitable for measuring higher-order thinking skills among SD/MI students in Natural Science learning.
