Abstract
This study aims to analyze the strengthening of students’ character in madrasahs through a religious moderation approach. Religious moderation is viewed as a strategic effort to shape students who are religious, tolerant, and virtuous within a multicultural society. The research employed a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation techniques at a State Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri). The findings indicate that the implementation of religious moderation programs enhances students’ religiosity, tolerance, social responsibility, and helps prevent radicalism among them. The internalization of religious moderation through learning activities and extracurricular programs has proven effective in strengthening madrasah students’ character. The implications of this study recommend that madrasahs integrate religious moderation into their curriculum, school culture, and social activities.
